What is Depo-Testosterone?
Depo-Testosterone is an injection testosterone medication that is used to treat men with hypogonadism (very low levels of testosterone). The injections are given by a doctor, usually in the buttock muscle, ever 1-4 weeks. Drug-makers promise that it will treat symptoms of “Low T,” including loss of libido, decreased muscle mass, depressed mood, sexual dysfunction, and more.
FDA Warning for Depotestosterone Side Effects
Unfortunately, Depo-Testosterone can have life-threatening side effects. On January 31, 2014, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published a Safety Alert and began investigating studies linking testosterone and heart attacks. The announcement came just days after PLoS One published a study linking testosterone to a 2X increased risk of heart attack in men over 65. Just three months earlier, another study found a 30% increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and death during the first 90 days of testosterone replacement therapy.

About Class Actions
Class actions are lawsuits filed by a “class representative” on behalf of a much larger group of individuals with the same legal grievance. They are a useful way to avoid flooding the courts with similar lawsuits, especially when each person’s potential payout is less than the cost of filing an individual lawsuit. If the lawsuit is successful, lawyers are typically paid a percentage of the recovery, and plaintiffs share the rest.
Why Our Law Firm is Filing Individual Lawsuits as Opposed to a Depo-Testosterone Class Action

They may be forced to accept high attorneys’ fees and a “low-ball settlement.” At Schmidt & Clark, LLP our trial attorneys file individual lawsuits because we believe every many who had a blood clot, heart attack, or stroke after taking Depo-Testosterone deserves the opportunity to take his case before a judge and jury. Our lawyers always review cases for free. We also typically provide legal representation on contingency-fee.
